You deserve a home that is as beautiful tomorrow as it is on the day you move in. We take such pride in our craftsmanship at Creative Homes that we stand behind every new home with three different types of warranties:

Your home is covered by a one-year craftsmanship warranty against defects in workmanship or materials that do not meet building standards. For example, we’ll address items such as drywall cracking or screw pops at your 11-month check-in, as seasonal changes in the Midwest can cause natural settling.

Homeownership does require routine maintenance. Damage caused by homeowner neglect, improper maintenance, or misuse is not covered under the Builder’s Limited Warranty.

1 year

Your home is covered by a one-year craftsmanship warranty against defects in workmanship or materials that do not meet building standards. Covered emergencies during this period include total loss of heat, hot water, or electricity to the home, major plumbing leaks requiring water shutoff, and sewage backup caused by a plumbing defect. Issues due to improper use or lack of maintenance are not covered.

2 year

A major structural defect is damage that impacts the home’s safety or livability. Non-load-bearing issues are not considered structural defects and may be covered under the one-year craftsmanship warranty.

10 year

For ten years, your home is warranted against major structural defects affecting load-bearing components such as the foundation, beams, load-bearing walls, floor systems, and roof framing.

10 year

Are my appliances under warranty?
All appliances are covered directly through the manufacturer.
After closing, you’ll need to register each appliance with the manufacturer to activate and manage your warranty coverage.

What happens if my sod dies after the winter?
Once sod is installed, ongoing watering and maintenance become the homeowner’s responsibility.
Winter damage or dead sod after the winter season is not covered under warranty.

I’m the second owner of a Creative Home. Does the warranty still apply?
Yes. If the home is still within the applicable 1-2-10 warranty period, warrantable items remain covered regardless of ownership.

I need to repaint or replace finishes. Do you keep records of my selections?
Yes. We maintain selection records dating back to 2014.
If you need paint colors or finish details, please contact us and we’ll help locate the information.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty still apply? Who should I contact first?
If you’re experiencing a mechanical issue or emergency, contact the original installer listed on the equipment in your utility room.
Emergency contact numbers are posted on major mechanical systems.
Our mechanical trade partners offer 24-hour emergency service, while Creative Homes operates during standard business hours.

Who is responsible for transferring utilities?
At closing, you are responsible for transferring all utilities into your name.
A complete utility list with contact information will be provided at closing to make this process simple.
